2Civility Names Laura Bagby as Communications Director

The Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism (2Civility) is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Bagby as Communications Director. In this newly created position, Ms. Bagby will lead communications strategy to advance 2Civility’s mission of fostering increased civility, professionalism, and inclusion among lawyers and judges in Illinois.

“We are excited to welcome Laura to the 2Civility team,” said Jayne Reardon, Executive Director of 2Civility. “Her strong background in communications strategy, media relations, and social media will be key as we work to increase the reach of our professionalism programming in Illinois. Our goal is to provide all lawyers and judges with educational, training, and mentoring activities that foster greater integrity and civility in the field.”

Ms. Bagby has more than 10 years of experience in public relations and marketing in the healthcare, finance, and government industries. Most recently, Ms. Bagby served as Account Director for 6 Degrees Communications, where she led media relations efforts to raise awareness of biopharma, higher-education, and non-profit clients in top-tier business and industry trade media including Bloomberg, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Prior to 6 Degrees, Ms. Bagby was an Account Supervisor for the health & wellness team at FleishmanHillard, where she developed communications campaigns for consumer healthcare and government clients including Walgreens and Get Covered Illinois. She also worked in financial marketing and client service for Bernstein Global Wealth Management in New York City and SNW Asset Management in Seattle. Ms. Bagby began her career as a member of the media team for a successful U.S. Senate campaign.

Ms. Bagby holds a master’s in public relations and corporate communication from New York University (NYU), and a bachelor’s in journalism and mass communication from St. Michael’s College in Vermont. While at NYU, Ms. Bagby worked with the United Nations Global Compact to develop a communications strategy for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.
