The Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Davies as Education Manager. Mr. Davies will manage the Commission’s educational programming aimed at promoting a more professional, civil and inclusive legal profession.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dan to the Commission,” said Jayne Reardon, Executive Director of the Commission on Professionalism. “Dan brings to the Commission a strong background in eLearning and instructional design. He has led the development of workplace learning solutions across multiple industries including technology, finance and nonprofit. We look forward to leveraging Dan’s passion and expertise to continue to deliver superior legal education to lawyers in Illinois.”
Mr. Davies has almost two decades of international experience in education and learning development. Through his focus on workplace learning design, he has had the opportunity to develop business simulations, eLearnings, virtual instructor-led courses, webinars, resources and in-person classes in diverse industries including finance, banking, technology, pharmaceuticals and nonprofit.
Prior to joining the Commission, Mr. Davies was a learning manager at the YMCA of the USA, where he designed learning solutions across topics including diversity and inclusion, achievement-gap programming and data-based decisions, and fiscal management. He began his career as a teacher in the U.K. before moving to Spain to lead efforts to refocus a school department’s curriculum to a more learner-centered design. During this time, he was also a volunteer teacher in Romania for the nonprofit The Bivol Trust.
Mr. Davies has a master’s in eLearning and Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and a bachelor’s in History and Society from the University of Worcester in England.
