Kathleen L. Pine

Kathleen has over 35 years of experience representing hospitals and physicians in medical malpractice cases in Illinois and Missouri. She was a shareholder at Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard P.C., opening the firm’s first satellite office in Carbondale in 2003. She retired in 2022.

Kathy is a member and past president of the Southern Illinois Inn of Court. She is also a board or committee member for several community organizations including The Survivors Empowerment Center and Artspace 304, and she serves as an election judge in Jackson County.

Kathy holds a J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law and a B.A. from Illinois State University. She was appointed to the Commission on Professionalism in 2021.
