Michelle Courier is a Senior Labor/Employment Attorney for the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts. Ms. Courier has served the AOIC since November 2020 and is responsible for advising judicial branch employers on issues relating to labor relations, collective bargaining, and employment law compliance; advising on general legal obligations and responsibilities affecting the judicial branch; reviewing judicial leases; and served as the liaison for Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Professional Responsibility and continues to serve as the liaison for the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Pattern Jury Instructions in Criminal Cases.
Ms. Courier has over twenty-five years of legal experience with at least twenty years representing government agencies and officials. Prior to serving the AOIC, Ms. Courier served McHenry County State’s Attorney as its Chief and Deputy Chief of the Civil Division. Ms. Courier also served Boone County as its elected State’s Attorney for eight years.
Ms. Courier earned her Juris Doctor from the Northern Illinois University College of Law, graduating cum laude, and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois, graduating cum laude.
