Lawyers, Don’t Miss Your Deadline to Have Fun This Summer

Sunflower field taken in Brimfield, IllinoisAs lawyers, we live by deadlines and an important summer deadline is quickly approaching. Before panic sets in, take a deep breath. This is a positive deadline. Summer is not over yet, so you still have time to recharge and, dare I say, have some fun.

While summer does not end until September 23, the days are already getting shorter. Who else noticed it this week? It is darker when I get up and I cringed when the weather person said we have seen this year’s last sunset past 8 p.m. So, it is time to stop procrastinating on your summer deadline.

Why do you need a deadline? Because summer is synonymous with rest and relaxation, which is not easy for most of us in the legal profession. But, as the Commission’s resident well-being blogger, I am here to enforce the summer deadline for us all.

If you are reading this and thinking, “I want to have fun this summer but do not know where to start,” you are in luck! The Commission has done the work for you. Below is a list of ways you can enjoy the rest of summer throughout the great state of Illinois.

Now lawyers, let’s go and tackle this summer deadline!

  • Visit historical state sites and national sites in Illinois
  • Cheer on your favorite local sports teams
  • Take in a local art or book fair
